Give me the simple life

Have you ever prepared dinner while your cat is snoring in the evening breeze?
It will definitely give you a happy boost and remind you how simple & enjoyable life is.
I know some people really want the complexity and constant drama of their lives but I love living a simple life. I don't need to be famous to validate my existence. I don't need a million euros to buy status symbols. I don’t need hundreds of friends seeking my attention.

I just want:
To be healthy and my family to be healthy.
To graduate and start my glorious crime-fighting career.
To slow down enough to notice lady bugs and earthworms.
To kiss my cats sweet paws.
To dance uninhibitedly in the bathroom with the radio blaring in the background.
To listen to the wind in the leaves.
To bake sweets.
To be aware of how blessed my life is no matter what is going on.
To throw people,whom I don’t like, for a loop.
To be silly with my friends and make them laugh.
To earn money to pursue my passions.
To remember the great times I had with my grandparents.
To swim on my back in the swimming pool.
To take a walk when it’s raining and thundering outside.
To laugh at my mom and sister’s wacky sense of humor
Long summer evenings.
Quiet mornings
The feel of comfortable pillows, sheets and blankets after a tiring day
A sunset and an ice cream with my sister
Cuddling up and watching a DVD with the people I love.
Time alone with a good book.
A warm hello from a stranger
Freshly brewed coffee.
A long hot shower.
Letting a warm chocolate chip cookie melt in my mouth with my eyes closed.
Spending time with my mom on a Saturday afternoon, shopping
The feeling of satisfaction after a workout.
Fresh, cold cherries.

And I love working on my plans to take over the world…
Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight?
Brain: The same thing we do every night, Pinky - try to take over the world!

You want to take over the world too? Uh-oh, we might have a problem later on ;)

I could not agree more with everything you said in this post. Appreciating simplicity is one of the pillars of happiness I believe, and I am always striving for it. I love your blog - have I mentioned that??? :)

Pinky and the Brain! I love them.

This is a wonderful list. And yes, no to drama. But being a crime fighter sounds like it would be full of drama, at least the drama of others. But sounds like you can remain outside of it.

You know, Donut Girl, I think you're right. I think living the simple life is the best! Although for some reason, the title reminded me of Green Acres . . .

:0]

And Pinky and the Brain are simply AWESOME! Love 'em, simple love 'em.

You just HAD to say something about a "warm chocolate chip cookie"...didn't you?

After this past month, I know I'm not into drama. I was swimming in it (family crap)...and I was miserable!

Give me a good book, a warm bed and my man (not necessarily in that order *wink*) and I'm a happy girl.

Laughing @ Randa's 'Green Acres' comment. I thought she was going to say Paris Hilton. ; )

If you take over the world can I be your henchman?

Throwing people you don't like isn't that easy. I used to throw midgets in the circus and my arms started to ache after a while. Sticking out your tongue at them might be a more practical approach.

Well said Donut! Really meaningful post. We are always obssessed with drmaa and complication and we miss out the great things in our life. And "the best things in life are FREE".
I made a post like this before, I think it's called 5 things list.

This was a very inspiring post, especially amidst all my current personal dramas. With an attitude like yours, I hope you DO take over the world!

Pinky and the Brain don't get enough blogging glory in my opinion. So, you just made my day!

:-)

Eric: Oh no! I'll fight you!!! I will throw so many donuts at you that you'll not know what hit you.

Jociegal: Beautifully said, Jocelyn! Or should I call you Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer? Just joking :) And believe me, I <3 your blog too.

Cheryl: I love them too! Those two made me laugh so much :D And I absolutly love the drama of crime. I can't help it. Maybe that's the reason why I don't like drama in my own life.

Randa: Green Acres? :-)
Pinky: Hmmm... let me think...
Brain: Don't hurt yourself, Pinky.
I love them too!

Blasé: HA HA! They are soo good warm. But LU Prince choco prince cookies are the best.

Jodi: Bleh, family crap is the worst. That's why I'm glad our family doesn't live in the Netherlands. Too much drama. My family consists of my mom, my sister, my dad, my oma and me. The rest is collateral damage with a few good apples among them.
A good book, a warm bed and a man, sounds good to me too :-)

Mr. Condescending: Yes, by all means, let's team up. But don't try to seize my leathership, like Eric is trying to do.

Gorilla Bananas: Well, I have discovered that throwing people of buildings is very easy. A push and a little shove.

LazyKing: Thank you! And you are right about the free part. I read your post! Great stuff, like always.

Ali: Oh no, you are having personal dramas in Denmark? I hope it becomes a thing of the past. Thank you for stopping by!

Cora: Pinky and The Brain is sheer genius. The character designs are wonderful and the voice acting is superb. They are so funny :-)
